Floatworks
Easily one of the coolest experiences I have ever tried!
When you arrive there is a waiting area where you get comfortable and sign in. They offer you water, flip flops, and then there is tea a biscuits for when you finish. They explain to you about the process, how to make the most of it and answer any questions you may have as a first time floater. The staff are very friendly and knowledgable about all the benefits of floating. They also told me that there are a variety of people who come in and float from athletes to business people and anyone who is looking to be less stressed and happier. They show you into your room which has hangers for any of your clothes, you can put your shoes in their lockers. You should have a shower first to make yourself clean and then dry your face. This is so that you do not have any water on your eyes that you may want to rub as the water in the tank is salty to give it buoyancy and it can be itchy if you get it into your eyes. When in the tank put in the mouldable earplugs they give you so that you don't get distracted by the water going in your ears when you're floating. They also give you a spray with non salty water so that you can spray it on your eyes in case you get any water in them. Once you're ready, get inside the pod and just relax. It was crazy, I thought you had to push yourself up to float but you seriously just float there without any effort. It is such a relaxing feeling and you have to try it to understand. Put your hands behind your head to help your neck and just enjoy. You can turn the light on and off depending on if you need to or not. I chose to turn the light completely off. They play music for the first 20 minutes and then it is just the sounds of the water. This gave me time to think and meditate. By the end of the session I felt so good. I was so relaxed, confident and i felt like the stresses i went into the pod with stayed there. My skin felt really nice afterwards and i was able to notice things around me a lot more. Meditation has been proven to help with many things and I found that to be the case in my situation too. You must try it!! Some of the positives of floating that Floatworks have found are:
