Tourist things to do
Empire State Building - Known all of the world thanks to it's inclusion in hundreds of films and one of the world's first skyscrapers this is truly one of the best sites in New York. It doesn't feel real when you see it for the first time. Head up to the top for panoramic views of the city. Statue of Liberty - Lady Liberty is also a monument that the majority of the people across the world can recognise and the island that it is on is also great with stunning views of the Manhattan skyline. What the locals do Central Park - One way locals relax and get away from the stresses of their job is by heading to Central Park. You can have a jog around the lake, get on a boat and sail across it or just sit down and soak in all the people enjoying this wonderful city. Hidden Gems Hudson Yards - This is the newest part of New York with lots of construction underway and a new monument called the Vessel. There are lots of shops, restaurants and bars all around this area so it is definitely worth a look! |
Restaurants to check out
Mandarin Oriental - Amazing views and amazing tasting food and drink, this restaurant is one of the most memorable places I'll ever eat in my life. The staff were very friendly and the interior was stunningly beautiful. Definitely worth it and something you will never forget. Memorial place to go to The Oculus - They have lots of exhibitions that take place right in the centre of the bottom foyer of this wonderful memorial building. It is right in the heart of the financial district and has the memorial of 9/11 near by. |
Where to stay
CitizenM New York The Bowery Hotel - I love CitizenM hotels as they have really cool interiors, always serve great food and drink and are a nice place to meet new people with the open layout. This one in The Bowery was incredible. there are basically 360 views of New York City and you can basically see all the way from uptown to downtown. The rooftop bar is really sweet with an outside seating area ideal for the summer months and a snazzy indoor area for the cold winters. I must have spent 3 hours per day just relaxing and looking out at the skyline from the bar. The rooms are spacious with modern design furniture, a canteen on the ground floor, which was handy when we need some food before heading out and some work space for when we need to catch up on somethings. 189 Bowery NY 10002 New York |
