Iberica Victoria
We started out the evening by sitting down at the bar and ordering some drinks while talking to the bartender. He asked us about our day and then gave us an insight into live in Madrid where he is from. He also gave us some recommendations on what are his favourite dishes on the menu.
I was struck by the intricate Spanish style decor throughout the restaurant (check out some of the photos!). There was definitely a lot of care taken in the design of each part of the restaurant from the entrance, to the bar, to the bathrooms. The ambiance was really nice, people chatting at their tables, Spanish music playing inside, dangling lights and some plants around the entrance.

The weather was perfect so we decided to sit outside with the evening summer breeze. The restaurant is far enough away from the road that you forget about the traffic.
Our waiter came to the table and explained the whole menu incredibly well. He answered all our questions, talked about his favourite dishes that he recommended us to try, which are popular dishes in Spain and made a few jokes. He was very knowledgeable of what food and drinks go together well. We went for 9 different tapas to share between 3 people.
The food tasted exquisite and was cooked to be nicely tender. Some of the dishes we tried were the croquetas, gambas, chorizo, albondigas, iberica burgers, twice cooked lamb and crispy chicken. My favourites were the croquetas, nice and crispy and soft inside. The crispy chicken was perfectly charred on the outside, which made it succulent and taste awesome. I always love chorizos but adding it to chickpeas made it even better. I'd definitely recommend trying a variety of the dishes on the menu because they all tasted great and it will mean you can have a truly Spanish experience.

Going for the tapas option was a great choice as we all got to try a little bit of everything. This kept the table chatty rather than people focussing on their own dish. It was nice not to have all the dishes come at the same time as that kept everything warm rather than having it all at once, very nice touch.
To finish off we had churros, coffee flan and rice pudding. My favourite was the rice pudding, it was caramelised to be hard on the surface like a creme brûlée. It tasted great and I stuffed it all!
I've been to a host of Spanish restaurants in Spain and this is hands down the best Spanish restaurant i've ever been to. If you want class and great food you know where to go.
